Hello! 

I am a teacher and coach.  I am a former runner.  I am searching for more.

2020 had a lot of people at home exploring other interests.  I found myself binge watching everything and unsure what to do outside of my job.  I realized that I had jumped in on my career after college and made it the most important thing in my life instead of an important thing in my life.  Don’t get me wrong, career is important, but it can’t be all there is.

In teaching, there’s little room for opinions or my other interests.  When you’re a teacher, it can be your identity, so trying to look outside of that identity can be painful.  Teaching makes up a smaller portion of my interests, but the majority of my life.  If you’d like to hear more about that, check out my first post.  

I am working on continuing to have this blog be fairly diverse, and I have started a separate book blog Lemon Cupcake Life: Books.  I am working on getting that one going and transferring most of my book content to that blog.  Come check it out!

If you’re finding yourself at all in a similar situation of diving all in on your career and now trying to figure out what you are outside of that, come along for the ride!

Since my students are old enough to google and due to how honest I would like to be here, I will be using initials.  I won’t be sharing any of their information obviously, but I would prefer they not be able to. find out about me.  As professors said in college, students shouldn’t know who you voted for, and I agree.  However, I can’t say that that type of information won’t become obvious on here.  We shall see where this goes.  If you’re wondering where the blog name came from, be on the lookout for an upcoming blog post about it!
